Just a quick reminder - or perhaps a new announcement for those of you who aren't on Twitter - that I've been short-listed for the UK Science Blogging Prize. I'll be giving a very brief talk at the awards night next Sunday 25th November which is in the Penderel's Oak, London.
Speaking of Twitter, I'm on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/Neuro_Skeptic
I'll also be speaking in Philadelphia on December 6th at UPenn on the topic of Brain Rumors: Public (MIs)understanding of Neuroscience and Why It Matters
Finally, to save this from being a completely boring post, here is the cover of the latest British Medical Journal, which in my opinion is the funniest image ever to grace the front of an academic publication. Even if it is, literally, potty humour.

How do you give a talk in a real-life forum and maintain your anonymity? Just curious... Wish I could see you at U Penn. I'd heard this past summer that you were coming, but I won't be able to make it. Enjoy!
duh...he wears a mask.
OH RLY
Congratulations - very well deserved!
That picture is excellent :)
Only those who attend the event will know how I'll maintain my cloak of mystery...
This Neuroskeptic sounds incredibly seductive. Love how he makes neuroscience so sexy. I'm quivering at the thought of what kind of mask he'll be wearing. Hope it'll be BDSM type.
Interesting...One thing we now know about your identity is that you do live in the UK. I am pretty sure that you'll give your talk via video a conference, and a sound synthesizer. After all, a £1000 prize does not worth revealing your mask, or does it?
Me living in the UK is common knowledge... in fact it's right up there in the top right corner of the blog ;)
Or is it a really long con..?
He happens to be a she residing in her parent's basement. That would be awesome. Like me in my heyday when trolling powerful persons. Being qualified and networked chipped my enigma. Don't tell us who you are NS, that quirky animate brain is all we need to know. Please wear a silk eye mask like Zorro.
